Our SEAL assembly

All the classes shared the work they have done this half term on the Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) topic – Relationships. The younger children learnt about Friendship and the values they need to show to be a good friend. The older children learnt about more complex issues such as dealing with embarrassment and not judging people.

Mereside gains Basic Skills Quality Mark

We are very proud to say that Mereside School has gained the Basic Skills Quality Mark.

The Quality Mark is an award that celebrates and supports continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy.

It is awarded to a setting or school to recognise their provision, practice and performance in literacy and numeracy, and is valid for three years.

A school or setting must demonstrate a whole school approach to improving standards in literacy and numeracy, with evidence of the impact of its approaches.

Gaining this award is a recognition of all the hard work that goes on at this school, by staff and children, and we are very proud to receive it.
